Take action to help animals & the environment!
Why mascara wands? The wands are shared with wildlife rehabilitators to use in their work to save injured and orphaned wild animals. They use the wands in many ways including removing fly eggs and larva from the fur and feathers of wild animals. They work great because the bristles are close together. Wands are also reused through the Wand Art program, a creative initiative to engage youth and artist with the mission to help the wild ones.
How can I help? ‘Wanders‘ (individuals and groups) collect old mascara wands, clean and mail with the form to the Wands Team – address can be found on the form.
No printer? Just write the information requested on the form on a piece of paper and include in the package.
How do I clean the wands? Clean with warm soapy water to remove residual mascara and dry completely before packaging. For cushioning, you can use new trash bags or a towel which can be repurposed.
